| On December 30, The Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Yang Honglin met with the Editor in Chief of Al-Riyadh Newspaper, Mr. Turki A. Al-Sudairi in his office in Riyadh. H.E. Mr. Yang spoke highly of the role played by Al-Riyadh Newspaper, which has always been showcasing the latest achievements of China and serving as a bridge between the two countries. He denoted that the media would play a more and more important role in enhancing mutual understanding along with further development of Sino-Saudi relations and closer ties between the two peoples. He emphasized that the media from both sides should exert their outmost endeavors to promote the friendly relations between the two countries and peoples to a new height. Mr. Sudairi recalled the wonderful experience of his several visits to China while eulogized the profound changes taken place in China nowadays. He pointed out that it was the fundamental interests and aspirations of the two peoples to usher the traditional Saudi-Chinese friendship to a new stage in the new era. He also expressed his sincere wishes to push forward mutual cooperation with Chinese counterparts in the area of the media. Al-Riyadh Newspaper, subordinated to Yamamah, one of the three largest Newspaper Corporations in Saudi Arabia, is published in the Capital Riyadh with comprehensive coverage. It was founded in 1964 and developed into a leading newspaper in Saudi Arabia with the largest issuing volume and advertising incomes. Mr. Sudairi, also as the Chairman of the Saudi Journalists Association, has visited China four times. |
