On January 2, the Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Yang Honglin met with the Saudi Minister of Culture and Information, H.E. Mr. Iad bin Amin Madany. During the friendly conversation, they exchanged views on strengthening cultural relations between the two countries.

  H.E. Mr. Yang denoted the cultural exchanges between the two countries were long standing. The Sino-Saudi relations had witnessed fast development in recent years and stepped into a new stage since the successful exchange of visits between the head of state from both countries. Along with the development in other areas, Sino-Saudi cultural exchanges also embraced a new era. China would like to deepen cultural cooperation and promote mutual understanding with Saudi Arabia in order to consolidate the foundation of bilateral friendship.

  H.E. Mr. Madany welcomed H.E. Mr. Yang Honglin's arrival as the new Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia while highlighted the unique role cultural exchanges played in furthering mutual understanding and enhancing reciprocal cooperation. He denoted that the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information would like to strengthen communication and cooperation with its Chinese counterparts in the areas of culture and art and promote bilateral relations to a new height.
