Secretary General of IEF expressed his wish to strengthen cooperation with China

    On February 19, the Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Yang Honglin met with the Secretary General of International Energy Forum (IEF), Mr. Hurlst. They exchanged views on the current world energy situation and promoting mutual cooperation in the energy sector.

    Mr. Yang spoke highly of the role played by IEF in stabilizing the world energy market and the achievements made by Mr. Hurlst as he assumed his new post as the Secretary General. He denoted that China would like to strengthen communication and coordination with IEF and make concerted efforts to safeguard world energy security.

    Mr. Hurlst denoted that IEF had been exerting its utmost endeavors in promoting dialogue between energy consumers and producers and improving transparency and reliability of energy databases since its establishment in 2001. IEF attached vital importance to the influence of China in energy sector and would like to enhance cooperation with relevant Chinese authorities.
